Job description

Matrix Providers is hiring a LPN/LVN, Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit to join our team of talented professionals providing healthcare services to Military Service Members and their families at Naval Hospital Jacksonville in the Naval Branch Health Clinics.

  • Employment Status: Full-time
  • Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly. $27.00-$28.05/hr + H&W $5.09/hr
  • Schedule: Open 365 days per year, 7 days a week, 24 hours per day. The HCW shall normally provide services for six 12.5-hour periods, (to include an uncompensated 30 minute meal break) and one 8.5 hour period (to include an uncompensated 30 minute meal break) per two-week period. In no instance will an individual HCW be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per two-week period
    • Night Shift - 32 hours per week - (2) twelves and an 8hr shift one week. Then 48 hours per week - (4) twelves the next week. Off every other weekend, in rotation with other employees in the department.

Requirements:

  • Degree: Certificate.
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by the Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA).
  • Experience: 18 months experience within the preceding 36 months working in a relevant setting.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support from the American Red Cross or American heart Association
    • Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Licensure: As an alternative to the education requirements in the basic contract, the HCW may possess a current unrestricted license to practice as an LPN/LVN in any one (1) of the fifty (50) States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands, and 18 months experience within the preceding 36 months working in a relevant setting.
  • Provide two (2) letters of recommendation from practicing physicians or peers attesting to his/her clinical skills. Reference letters must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference. Letters of reference must have been written within the preceding two years

Job Summary:

  • Provide direct patient care to psychiatric patients in inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings.
  • Assist with patient admissions, discharges, transfers, orientation, and daily unit operations.
  • Monitor patient safety, including suicide/homicide risk, behavioral changes, elopement risks, and crisis situations.
  • Perform patient assessments, interviews, vital signs, screenings, and document patient conditions and progress.
  • Support treatment programs including individual/group therapy, rehabilitation, stress management, and wellness activities.
  • Assist providers with mental health evaluations, treatment planning, patient education, and care coordination.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed, monitor patient responses, and report adverse reactions or concerns.
  • Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and restraint procedures according to established policies and training.
  • Perform clinical support duties including specimen collection, diagnostic assistance, records management, and patient preparation.
  • Maintain confidentiality, patient records, infection control standards, and collaborate with healthcare teams to support quality care.
