Job description

Matrix Providers is hiring a Nurse Practitioner - Family Health to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families in at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado.

  • Employment Status: Full-Time
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The schedule is maintained by clinic personnel based on demands of the clinic and appointments booked that day.
  • Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly. $62.66-$67/hr

Nurse Practitioner - Family Health must have and meet the following:
  • Degree: Master's degree in nursing.
  • Education: Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Certification:
    • Certified in Family Medicine as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate (for example, National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, American Nurses Association, National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Specialties).
    • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Experience: Have actively practiced as a Family Medicine - Nurse Practitioner for 24 months within the last 36 months, and are able to demonstrate current clinical competency. Current clinical competency is verifiable by clinical activity logs submitted by the previous medical institutions.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse.
Core Duties:
  • Provide comprehensive Nurse Practitioner services within the scope of practice and privileges granted by the MTF.
  • Perform patient evaluations, screenings, physical examinations, and medical care for routine, acute, and chronic conditions.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage illnesses, injuries, and health concerns using clinical guidelines and approved protocols.
  • Provide preventive care, health maintenance, immunizations, and patient wellness education.
  • Develop treatment plans and counsel patients on healthy behaviors and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate effective patient care and communicate treatment plans.
  • Provide clinical guidance, training, and evidence-based education to staff members.
  • Participate in staff meetings, case discussions, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Apply infection control practices, recognize isolation requirements, and maintain universal precautions during patient care.
  • Educate patients, families, and staff to support improved health outcomes and organizational goals.
