Job Summary

As a characterization engineering intern the candidate will support validating and characterizing leading edge RF Integrated Circuits. Candidate will be exposed to multiple aspects of an NPI RF lab, from reviewing customer specifications, implementation of measurement as it pertains to specification, and automation of data collection and data processing to generate reports that fulfill our DV and characterization requirements. The candidate should have the ability to learn, move fast, continuously develop new skills and provide timely deliverables.

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Characterization: Work close with lead Characterization engineer to define, measure, analyze and document product performance extraction techniques and results
  • System integration of hardware and software
  • Status Reporting: Provide periodic status reporting to internal customers and management

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Familiarity with RF concepts pertaining to design or measurement
  • Solid understanding of basic circuit theory
  • Familiarity of analog/digital circuit test and measurement methodologies
  • Proficiency with general lab equipment such as power supplies, o-scopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers
  • Understanding of filtering and mixing pertaining to spectrum analysis
  • Demonstrated experience with at least one of the following programming languages: LabVIEW, Python, Matlab, C/C++

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strength in documentation clarity and completeness
  • Team player with a strong sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule
  • Familiarity with RF test topics such as: 1dB compression, smith charts, s-parameters, noise figure, intermodulation distortion, and harmonics, etc
  • Willingness to go beyond what’s required

Education Requirements

  • Current student in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering or equivalent, preferably with completing 3+ year; or MSEE candidate

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office/lab environment. This role routinely uses standard office/lab equipment.

USD 25.63 - 48.60 per hour
