ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril's Flight Engineering department is part of the Air Dominance and Strike organization, we are seeking Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MSA) Engineers to join our team. The Anduril Flight Engineering team is integral to development of flight system solutions in all domains for our warfighters. As a critical member of our team, the role of a Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MSA) Engineer is pivotal in driving the design, development, testing, and implementation of cutting-edge flight system technologies for our aerospace systems. Anduril fosters a dynamic learning culture, characterized by accelerated knowledge acquisition through modeling, simulation, analysis, and rigorous and frequent ground and flight test experimentation. At Anduril, you will be involved in flight testing the systems you develop.
Join our Flight Engineering team advancing the Air Dominance and Strike division's portfolio, where we push the boundaries of aerospace technology. We are seeking exceptional MSA Engineers to shape the next generation of advanced tactical missile systems, strategic weapons, and hypersonic strike and defense systems. As a key contributor, you will develop, test, and integrate cutting-edge MSA system architectures for subsonic, supersonic, and hypersonic autonomous systems, driving innovation in mission-critical capabilities.


ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Engineer to join our team.  As part of the team you will have the opportunity to develop, implement and maintain a sufficient fidelity virtual representation of the myriad of different vehicles that Anduril works on.  In this role you will be required to develop and coordinate deployment and maintenance of vehicle models and simulation instantiations for various programs on going at Anduril.

 
The ideal candidate has experience working on aerospace systems and understands the right fidelity of sub-system and system level modeling required to integrate with the broader flight control and mission autonomy software to support development. The role requires the individual to be proficient in vehicle/sub-system modeling and well-versed in coding practices and software integration practices. If you have a passion for flight and like the idea of building a physics based digital representation of a flying vehicle this is the role for you!

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Work on challenging problems in a fast-paced environment from across our portfolio of programs and products:
  • Simulation solutions for Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithm development
  • Software-In-The-Loop (SITL) solutions
  • Hardware-In-The-Loop (HITL) solutions
  • Pilot-In-The-Loop (PITL) solutions
  • Customer product training solutions
  • Monte-Carlo simulation analysis
  • Simulation and Test data analysis tools and processes
  • Work with multi-disciplinary subject matter experts to understand and adequately model pertinent sub-system, system and system of system dynamics
  • Work with internal and external customers to understand simulation requirements and develop efficient modeling and simulation solutions
  • Own the end-to-end configuration of our SITL, HITL, and PITL for our test vehicles in support of safe and efficient flight tests
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or related technical discipline
  • Experience with aerospace/aeronautical systems (including rotorcraft/VTOL) and/or Subsea vehicles
  • Experience in flight dynamics/platform physics and control
  • Proficiency with C/C++
  • Advanced proficiency with scientific computing systems (Mathworks products (e.g., MATLAB, SIMULINK etc.), scientific Python (e.g., numpy, scipy)
  • Flight test data processing/sim correlation experience
  • Experience with developing sub-system and system level models (Air vehicle, ground vehicles, ground based sensors and other types of complex systems)
  • Experience with model development to support Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithm development
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced proficiency with C/C++
  • Flight test support experience
  • Experience with SITL and HITL simulation infrastructure design, development and deployment for complex systems
  • Experience with developing emulated/simulation interfaces for on-board avionics
