For the past forty-five plus years, we have supported Department of Defense customers by developing innovative remote sensing algorithms, tools, and techniques to deliver world-class data exploitation capabilities supporting missile defense; intelligence, surveillance, & reconnaissance; space domain awareness; and aircraft survivability missions.

SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented software engineer to support our programs delivering Next-Generation Missile Warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business that provides core capabilities for National Security and Defense. Our teams focus on image analysis, low-latency data processing, detection, and tracking algorithms for exploitation of remote sensing systems. The ideal candidate will be well-rounded C++ developer, work well as part of a rapid pace, collaborative, small-team environment, and be able to prototype, develop, integrate, and test advanced software solutions into Government frameworks.ย 

Responsibilitiesย 

  • Implement new algorithms for remote sensor data exploitationย 
  • Optimize existing high-throughput algorithms surrounding our image analysis, detection, and tracking effortsย 
  • Demonstrate fluent, idiomatic mastery of C++; comfortable with software design and architectureย 
  • Work as part of an Agile team and contribute to shared toolsย 
  • Other duties as assignedย 

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science.ย ย 
  • Additional year of education may be substituted for years of professional experience.ย 
  • At least five years of professional experience and fluency in C++ย 
  • At least three years of professional experience using Linux operating systemsย 
  • Knowledge of Data Structuresย 
  • Optimization skills for high-data-throughput processingย 
  • Detail orientedย 
  • Good verbal and written communication skillsย 
  • Ability to work full-time in-person in Boulder, CO office locationย 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearanceย 

Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferredย 

  • Experience with GPU programmingย 
  • Strong understanding and experience with modern object-oriented design, inheritance patterns, and SOLID principlesย 
  • Experience implementing features of C++ 17, 20 or 23 standardsย 
  • Experience with the exploitation and analysis of OPIR, E/O, SAR, Spectral, RF, or other remotely sensed dataย 
  • An advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer scienceย 
  • Fluency in one or more of the following languages: Matlab, Rust, Pythonย 
  • Professional experience with Agile software developmentย 
  • A current active DoD SECRET security clearance or higherย

The pay range for this position is $96,000- $140,000 / year.
