JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Systems Architect Engineer to support solution conceptualization and development for our next generation of advanced spacecraft. The ideal candidate should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on high-level design, planning, and definition of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze technical trade-offs of system and subsystem-level solutions and explore solution alternatives
  • Develop and maintain system models within a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) framework
  • Participate in defining solution roadmaps and requirements
  • Provide technical leadership for spacecraft conceptual design
  • Work closely with product managers, solution architects, and other engineers to validate customer, market, and technical assumptions

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in modeling and simulation, computational physics, and/or multidisciplinary optimization
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB/Simulink, Julia, Fortran, and/or C++
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent technical communications skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with spacecraft design, manufacture, and/or operations
  • Experience with developing and scaling complex simulations in either cloud or cluster computing environments
  • Experience with orbital mechanics and trajectory optimization
  • Familiarity with STK, FreeFlyer, or similar software
  • Familiarity with industry standard software development practices.
  • Previous experience working on DoD and other USG development and deployment programs
  • Ability to hold and maintain a USG Security Clearance

Education & Work Experience:

  • Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • +7 years relevant experience

Compensation:

Annual Base Salary Range: $160,000.00 - $200,000.00/per year
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package (base+bonus+equity) and is determined within a range. Your actual base salary will be determined on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Our benefit plans include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k retirement plan, short and long term disability and life insurance. We also offer flexible PTO, along with 11 paid holidays, sick time and paid parental leave.

This is a full-time position in San Jose, California. This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) is required.
