Prime Video is entering a new era where we're no longer satisfied having the most number of streaming customers or having the largest selection of content for our customers. We want to be the default entertainment hub for customers worldwide.

In order to realize this vision, Prime Video's Global Video Supply Chain has been hard at work over the last three years reinventing, simplifying and scaling the underlying content platform. As we enter the final stages of completing the prior three year vision, we are seeking a Platform Leader who can create and drive the next chapter of our journey.
As a Software Development Manager, we'd like you to grow the existing team, hire and develop software, quality and data engineering leaders and engineers in building the next generation content and data platform. As part of the Prime Video leadership team, you will work on developing the systems and strategies used by Amazon worldwide and will regularly interact with senior leadership

You will work with our engineering, business, and operations teams world-wide to define organization roadmaps, drive execution of technology projects, drive operational excellence initiatives and manage technology operations. You'll need to build, manage, and mentor a growing and high-performing engineering team towards achieving a focused mission. You'll work in a high volume environment and will be required to lead not only at the strategic level, but also tactically day-to-day by diving deeply into business and technical domains.
To accomplish this, you will be expected to have an established background in building highly scalable systems and system design, excellent people and program management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment

You should be somebody who enjoys working on complex system software, is customer-centric, and feels strongly about connecting customer problems through underlying scalable software that raises the bar on customer and operational goals. Experience with building and operating web-based applications and/or web services-based applications, especially at massive scale, will be very applicable and helpful.

- Clearly communicate priorities, decisions, risks, and solutions with your team, management, and principal stakeholders
- Work with your team to determine scope and estimate development effort
- Lead systems design, architecture, and scaling discussions

This is a high visibility, high growth role with direct reporting relationship to a Level7 and frequent Level8/Level10 reviews.
