Job Title: Intermediate to Higher Software Engineer (C++ / RHEL)

Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for an intermediate to Higher software engineer to contribute to a large Ground Solutions and Mission Support software team focused on mission-critical systems. You will work on both new development and operations and maintenance efforts, supporting multiple specialized software subsystems and delivering new capabilities in close coordination with a restricted customer. The position is fully on-site in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) in Redondo Beach, CA, where you will help design, build, and sustain software that supports vital mission operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform as a C++ software developer within a fast-paced, agile team environment using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) virtual machines, servers, and workstations.
  • Design, implement, and unit test new software capabilities based on Mathematical Algorithm Requirements (MARs).
  • Analyze, identify, and troubleshoot software issues, and develop and deliver fixes to resolve Discrepancy Reports (DRs).
  • Collaborate closely with software Integrated Project Team (IPT) subject matter experts and Higher engineers across multiple specialized software subsystems.
  • Support both development and operations and maintenance (O&M) activities across several mission operational software product lines.
  • Contribute to the sustainment and enhancement of existing mission software while also participating in the development of new capabilities.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and team coordination activities to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of software solutions.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience developing software in C++.
  • Hands-on experience working in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, including virtual machines, servers, and workstations.
  • Ability to design, code, and unit test software capabilities from formal requirements such as Mathematical Algorithm Requirements (MARs).
  • Experience identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects, including preparing and delivering fixes for Discrepancy Reports (DRs).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced agile team environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with subject matter experts and higher engineers across multiple software subsystems.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility to hold Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), with the ability to work in a SCIF.
  • Ability and willingness to work 100% on-site in Redondo Beach, CA, within a SCIF.

You will work as part of a large software Integrated Project Team composed of multiple specialized subsystems, using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) virtual machines, servers, and workstations in a fast-paced, agile setting. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $90.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
