Job description

Total Safety is looking for a Timekeeper to join their safety conscious team! The Timekeeper is responsible for the day-to-day administrative tasks of payroll. This individual will also be a liaison between employees and the corporate payroll team.

Essential Duties:
  • Answer payroll related questions.
  • Research pay issues.
  • Answer time off and research time off accrual issues.
  • Perform HR administrative tasks as needed.
  • Compile and post employee time and payroll data.
  • Compute employees' time worked, production, and commission.
  • Compute and post wages and deductions.
  • Prepare pay checks.
  • Assists others as needed.

Skills and Experience:
  • Understanding of basic math and the ability to read, write and comprehend written and verbal English.
  • Some knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
  • Basic PC skills with ability to enter data and verify accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues.
  • Must be able to pay close attention to details and to learn good planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
  • Previous experience with customer billing portals (i.e. Track, ATOM, CDMS) is a plus
  • Previous experience with processing DISA Drug Screens and Backgrounds, setting up employees in Safety Council, Time Entry, and daily Cost Reporting is preffered.

Working Environment:
  • Spends most of the time in an office environment. Occasional visit to shopping area. Must take care in moving or lifting office supplies. Infrequent exposure to shop hazards including noise, heavy equipment, chemicals, and fumes.

Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred and at least one (1) year of previous timekeeping experience
