Job description

Description:  Professional Tutor for Math or Science or Accounting or CAD, Part Time
Salary Range:  Non-exempt, $16.95 to $21.50 per hour, based on background and experience; part-time benefits on page 2 linked here:  Benefits At A Glance - Staff
Position Summary:  Provide tutoring in-person and online to students through the Tutoring and Writing Center.  Contribute to the Tutoring and Writing Center's presence and outreach on campus.  Tutor students one-on-one or in small groups using an academic support coach approach to develop independent learners.  Use a variety of tutoring strategies to improve student understanding and create opportunities for student success.  Flexibility in working with a wide range of college and high school student abilities.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in course specific area or closely related field required; 18 hours or more of graduate credit in course specific area preferred; teaching and/or tutoring experience at the high school or college level preferred; strong interpersonal skills: ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and students; and possess the skills and willingness to offer online services required.  Flexible schedule:  hours may vary semester to semester or be adjusted mid-semester required.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with learning management systems and video conferencing platforms preferred.
