Pool Title POOL - Math or Science Instructor - Science or Math Labs Instructional Support (Part-Time) Pool Number F98-18 Announcement Summary
This is a continuous recruitment pool not specifically advertised. 
The pool is continuous in order to develop a qualified pool of interested candidates. 
We invite applications to be submitted for potential openings. 
Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of a career that includes flexibility and willingness to change; open-mindedness, fairness and the ability to see multiple perspectives; a willingness to take risks, and willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
Duties
Provide one-on-one, individualized tutoring for math or science students, depending on your area of expertise. 
Teach students to implement scientific and/or mathematical concepts discussed in class. 
Cultivate the skills students need to effectively solve both scientific and mathematical problems. 
Increase the confidence of student learners. 
Cultivate critical thinking. 
Create an open environment where students can find answers to their science and math questions. 
Coordinate with Science/Math faculty to design curriculum, coordinate class workshops, and build Science/Math classroom Learning Communities. 
Coordinate with Student Learning Center Director and staff. 
Work Schedule: Twenty-eight hours weekly, M-F
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in the subject area (or) a Master's Degree with 18 graduate hours in the subject area. Strong skills in math and science. Ability to work well with diverse student and faculty populations in a variety of disciplines. 
Communication, both oral and written, skills necessary. Must have experience in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
Preferred Qualifications
Learning Support experience and tutor credential or tutor course work preferred.
