What We Look For In a Math 2 Tutor

Ability to explain completing the square, trigonometric ratios, circle theorems, and conditional probability while preparing students for advanced integrated mathematics and standardized assessment success.
  • Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at breaking down quadratic solving methods, similarity reasoning, and probability calculations. Guides students through factoring, using the quadratic formula, applying the Pythagorean theorem and trigonometric ratios, and computing probabilities using two-way tables and Venn diagrams. Emphasizes connecting algebra with geometry and applies concepts to engineering, architecture, and data science contexts.
  • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Integrated Math 2 curricula and Common Core standards, and common challenges such as distinguishing quadratic solution methods, proving geometric similarity, and computing conditional probabilities. Adapts instruction using dynamic geometry software, visual models for probability, and scaffolded practice to support students building on Integrated Math 1 foundations.
  • Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
