Job Description:

Overview

This position provides fullstack application development and database administration support for Communication Security Directorate (CSD) enterprise systems, ensuring all applications meet government standards, security requirements, and operational timelines. The role supports continuous application growth, modernization, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation, while collaborating closely with the Government Task Lead.

Job Duties

  • Support development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise applications and associated databases.
  • Follow all processes outlined in the Governmentapproved CSD Software Development Plan (SDP).
  • Reference and comply with all Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) and related documentation.
  • Obtain Government Task Lead approval of preliminary system and database designs before beginning development.
  • Inform the Government Task Lead of potential impacts of software changes and participate in requirements discussions.
  • Perform comprehensive and regression testing to ensure application functionality, proper access controls, and full implementation of all requirements prior to Government Verification and Validation testing.
  • Resolve software bugs according to approved project schedules; treat any unauthorized lack of requirement implementation as a bug requiring correction.
  • Conduct application troubleshooting, analysis, and issue resolution; enter required software modifications into configuration management for release planning.
  • Follow Government-led prioritization and versioning for all issues and modifications.
  • Ensure development, testing, and deployment activities are completed according to the approved project schedule.
  • Test deployments in staging environments and report/document any issues within 24 hours.
  • Manage application databases, including backups, cleanup of outdated items, software upgrades to approved versions, and database recovery as directed by the Government.
  • Perform upgrades to website platforms, frameworks, and development tools in coordination with Government-specified timelines.
  • Provide after-hours or weekend support when recalled for urgent tasks.
  • Prepare database queries, scripts, and reports upon request to support data access, analysis, and forensics needs.
  • Implement all technical and security modifications required by the CSD SDP and complete necessary RMF documentation to support certification and accreditation efforts.
  • Attend regular meetings with the Government Task Lead and/or COR; provide required information, reports, briefings, and meeting minutes.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Education: Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering from an ABET accredited institution and must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in systems design of major information technology systems. A substitution for degree may be applied with 10 years of experience and bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus
Possess intermediate knowledge of Windows Server and LINUX/UNIX/Solaris operating systems
Possess intermediate knowledge of developing .NET Framework and .NET Core MVC applications written in C# programming language

Possess intermediate knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle databases and their respective scripting languages

Possess intermediate knowledge of managing Microsoft Azure PaaS cloud systems

Must meet DoD 8140 Cyber Workforce Qualification Program requirements for Software Developer (DCWF 621), Intermediate level
US citizenship required

Security clearance level: Require both SECRET and TOP Secret clearances for these positions

The likely salary range for this position is $111,155 - $150,385. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
