About Our College

Galveston College is a comprehensive community college located on Galveston Island, just 40 miles south of Houston, Texas. Our College provides the citizens of Galveston Island and the surrounding region with academic, workforce development, continuing education, and community service programs. We serve an ethnically diverse population of approximately 2,400 students each semester in credit programs and nearly 5,000 individuals annually in continuing education programs. Job Summary:

  • Attend targeted classes, take notes, and participate in discussions. Assist students with class assignments in the math lab and classroom settings. Hold one-on-one tutoring sessions. Follow all procedures and policies set by the Developmental Math Department.

Required Qualifications:

  • GPA of 3.0 or above. Has knowledge and understanding of MyMath Lab. Average of A or Higher in selected course (Math 0314, 0324, 0342, and 0332). Complete all developmental education courses or be exempt from them.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Has knowledge and understanding of MyMath Lab.
  • Average of A or Higher in selected course (Math 0314, 0324, 0342, and 0332)
