Job description

Pay- $22.50

Summary

Perform skilled laboratory testing and analysis to support product safety, quality, and development. Ensure data integrity and provide insights that inform product performance and support continuous improvement initiatives. Strong interpersonal skills required to collaborate effectively across departments.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Execute and interpret candle performance and safety testing in accordance with laboratory standards and customer specifications, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
  • Collect, review, and analyze lab data, applying sound judgment to resolve any issues after submitting for review.
  • Identify issues related to equipment, processes, materials, and safety; apply problem-solving skills to support and/or recommend effective corrective actions.
  • Measure items such as candle emissions, wax temperature, or material flash point using specialized laboratory instrumentation and perform mathematical calculations for analysis and reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance testing methods, efficiency, and data quality, while ensuring compliance with safety or regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to the optimization of laboratory test methods and support training efforts as needed.

Education required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED), related courses in technical school or college a plus.

Range of Experience:

  • 0-3 years of experience in a lab setting, quality work, or a similar role.
  • Basic Knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations across various units of measurement, including whole numbers, fractions, percentages, decimals, descriptive statistics, and unit conversions.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe laboratory work environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Proficiency in data recording, analysis, and reporting tools, as well as excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation, data analysis, or technical reporting.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, testing standards, or regulated environments.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or touch; reach, talk, hear and smell. The employee may be required to kneel, crouch, sit, climb or balance. The employee may lift and/or move up to more than 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and aromas. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
