Position Summary: Under the direction of the Associate Director of Homestudy High School, the CVA (Cottonwood Virtual

Academy) High School Teacher serves a hybrid role within CVA High School. In the advisory capacity, this

credentialed teacher manages a caseload of high school students as their primary academic partner,

designing personalized four-year graduation plans, monitoring progress, and supporting students and families

in navigating the CVA HS academy model. In the instructional capacity, this teacher may teach synchronous

live classes, oversee asynchronous flex courses, or both, maintaining consistent pacing, feedback, and grading

across their assigned courses. Together, these responsibilities support CVA High School's blended model of

live instruction, flex-paced coursework, and community-based learning.

  • Required authorizations: EL Authorization

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working at an independent study charter school
  • Experience using educational technology platforms (e.g., LMS/SIS systems such as Pathways, Clever, or Google Classroom) to support instruction
  • Experience providing instruction in a synchronous online setting
