Position: Math Campus Instructional Specialist (Secondary)
Location: Assigned Secondary Campus
Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt (Professional)
Pay Grade: AP3 (205A/210A) | May Be Eligible for a Stipend
Reports To: Campus Principal

Killeen ISD is seeking an experienced and passionate Math Campus Instructional Specialist (CIS) to support teacher growth, strengthen instructional practices, and improve student achievement in mathematics across the campus.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proven educator and instructional leader who thrives on coaching teachers, analyzing student data, leading professional learning, and helping create high-quality learning experiences for all students.

As a key member of the campus leadership team, you'll work alongside administrators, teachers, and district leaders to build instructional excellence and ensure every student has access to rigorous, engaging math instruction.

What You'll Do

Instructional Leadership & Teacher Coaching

Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support to secondary math teachers
Model effective instructional practices and research-based teaching strategies
Support teachers in lesson planning, instructional delivery, and classroom effectiveness
Conduct classroom walkthroughs and provide actionable feedback
Help build teacher leadership capacity and support continuous improvement efforts

Curriculum, Assessment & Student Achievement

Lead implementation of district math curriculum and instructional resources
Analyze assessment and student performance data to identify trends and opportunities
Facilitate data-driven instructional planning and intervention strategies
Coordinate tiered supports and progress monitoring for at-risk students
Assist with benchmark assessments, local testing, and instructional adjustments

Professional Learning & Collaboration

Design and facilitate campus-based professional development
Lead Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) focused on lesson planning, student work analysis, and instructional improvement
Collaborate with principals, assistant principals, teachers, and district leaders to improve instructional outcomes
Serve as a liaison between district curriculum teams and campus staff
Support district initiatives related to curriculum development, instructional planning, and teacher training

District Leadership Opportunities

Assist with district-wide professional development initiatives
Support new teacher induction and mentoring programs
Contribute to curriculum writing, pacing guides, and instructional resource development
Participate in cross-campus instructional leadership teams and district projects

Qualifications Required

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in the appropriate subject and grade level
Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience in mathematics
Demonstrated expertise in math instruction and student achievement

Preferred

Master's Degree
Principal Certification or enrollment in a leadership preparation program
Experience coaching teachers and leading adult learning
Experience working in high-need or turnaround school environments
Demonstrated success improving student growth and achievement in mathematics
