Job Description:
The Role: Maternity & Pediatrics Registered Nurse (RN) - 30 hrs/week, 7p-7a
The Opportunity:
MaineGeneral Health is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maternity & Pediatrics Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team Maternal/Child Health team at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.
Maternity & Pediatrics is a department with a dynamic nursing team that covers the areas of Labor & Delivery, Postpartum (mother/baby), Pediatrics, and the Level II Nursery.
This position is an average of 30 hours per week on nights (6:45p-7:15a) and requires weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation. The schedule consists of two 12-hour shifts one week, and three 12-hour shifts the next.
The Work:
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluate the learning needs of the patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.

You have:
  • Active Maine RN licensure or the ability to obtain one in a timely fashion required
  • Mother/Baby, Level II or Labor & Delivery experience is strongly preferred
  • At least 1 year of RN Med/Surg experience preferred
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Compensation Information:
$35.00 - $61.25
The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
