Overview

Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: 12 Hour Night Education Level: 2 Year Degree Travel Percentage: None Category: Nursing - Hospital

Description

A Registered Nurse candidate for Maternal Care is responsible for the care of a laboring patient, post-partum patient and newborn after delivery. The Registered nurse is able to manage, and interpret a fetal monitoring strip during labor, and is able to recognize significant changes in the fetal condition that require appropriate interventions. The Registered nurse will be knowledgeable in the care of the newborn and is able to recognize complications and provide the appropriate care. The candidate will be able to provide effective triage, medical screening exam and treatment for the pregnant patient who presents for an unscheduled evaluation. Other duties are to provide total patient care, including some housekeeping duties after deliveries.

The candidate for this position will want to "make a difference" in the patients hospital experience, and is committed to patient satisfaction and quality care. The nurse will need to be compassionate and empathetic to the new parent's needs, and have the passion for educating new parents on the care of their newborn. The candidate will value the importance of being a positive team member and provide input for problem solving issues.

    • Preferred Experience: 1 year experience in L&D and Nursery care
