RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:

Under the direction of the Materials Manager, procures assigned materials, components, supplies, equipment, and services that meet operational requirements for quality, delivery, price, terms, lead times, freight costs, and inventory objectives.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Supports Buyers and the Materials Manager in resolving procurement issues, including invoice discrepancies, receipt discrepancies, and order expediting Procures materials to meet JCI goals for on-time delivery, inventory turns, cost, quality, and customer requirements. Assists in the supplier qualification process in accordance with the JCI ISO Supplier Selection Procedure and supports cross-functional teams in auditing and qualifying new sources of supply. Places purchase orders and communicates blanket order, master scheduling, and forecasting requirements to suppliers. Determines the most economical lot sizes and supplier lead times for purchased components. Conducts quoting activities to ensure the best total cost for assigned commodities. Supports commodity cost reduction, lead time reduction, and supplier consolidation initiatives. Supports inventory management programs with suppliers, including vendor stocking, consignment, and vendor-managed inventory programs. Supports company goals related to minority-owned and small disadvantaged business suppliers. Maintains data integrity within Largo systems and warehouse transactions. Provides support to the Planning Team by expediting and de-expediting purchase order releases as needed. Maintains and updates standard costs for assigned commodities. Participates in continuous improvement projects and initiatives. Assists the Quality Department in resolving supplier quality issues and provides support in expediting and de-expediting activities as needed. Serves as the SMCC Champion. Supports the Materials Team during Production Floor Meetings. Supports other Buyers in maintaining and reporting the 4W Report. Currently distributed once per week, with plans to increase reporting to twice per week, along with special orders reporting. Supports Warehouse and Inventory Control functions by understanding and promoting the importance of timely reporting and accurate warehouse transactions. 19. Investigates and analyzes inventory discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution and process improvement. 20. Participates in and supports Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and problem-solving initiatives within the Materials organization.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Two to five years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or production and inventory control. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Effective negotiation skills preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other business systems. Experience working in a team-oriented environment. Must be able to work onsite full-time at the designated company location. This position is not eligible for remote, hybrid, or work-from-home arrangements. Must be available to provide occasional weekend support as required to meet business needs.


SALARY RANGE: $76,000 - $114,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
