Who will you be working with?

You will be working with Operations, Planning, Fulfillment, Project teams trying to understand the requirement for Production and ensuring all parts are made available on shop floor for operations team without delay. Also ensuring high level of customer satisfaction by shipping parts on time with right packing and proper documentation.

How will you make a difference?

As Manager for the Shipping/ Material Department -will be responsible for safely leading a team of Material Handlers, Packers, Receiving and Coordinators who perform manual and clerical duties related to shipping, packing, picking, inspecting, storing, issuing, delivering, receiving and shipping a variety of materials, equipment and supplies in order to provide high-quality product and customer service to Wabtec's customers.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Five years in warehousing in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, or related field required.
  • 5+ Years of Supervisory/Management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management
  • Computer experience with MS Office and MRP systems. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
  • Ability to work independently and with coworkers
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software

What will your typical day look like?

  • Coordination and prioritization of the day-to-day activities for the shipping/receiving/warehouse personnel.
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in picking, identifying, kitting, packing, dispatching, shipping and assuring quality of goods
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of shipping/receiving/warehousing activities and employee's performance
  • Organize and maintain inventory and storage area (5S)
  • Interface with internal customers to answer questions or solve problems
  • Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
  • Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status
  • Monitoring and controlling inventory integrity through audit and correct material handling practices
  • Resolve inventory problems in a timely manner and escalate as needed
  • Track and report non-conforming product to ensure transactional integrity
  • Ensure inventory and shipping transactions' accuracy
  • Maintains inventory by conducting daily cycle counts
  • Demonstrate awareness and compliance of safety requirements in assigned work area for self and peers
  • Determine work procedures, prepares work schedule, and expedites work flow
  • Oversees, completes, and ensures accuracy of departmental work in conformance with policies and procedures
  • Ensure correct shipment of international shipments including verification of HTS codes
  • Develop cooperative mindset amongst employees and other departments
  • Confer with other department to ensure coordination of other functions such as production, purchasing, quality, and project management to ensure timely and accurate reception and shipment of material
  • Oversee weekly cycle counts and coordinates with other department heads to ensure accurate and timely completion thereof
  • Total responsibility of day-to-day shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations
  • Ability to introduce improvements and strategies and possess sense of urgency and a proactive customer service philosophy
  • Self motivated driven well organized and customer focus
  • Ensure department is safe, well organized, efficient, and clean
  • Managerial responsibility to include hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and terminations
  • Ability to train and develop employees and track performance against company objectives

What about the physical demands of the job?

  • Exposure to shop floor requires wearing steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection
  • Must be able to walk, climb, stoop, bend, and lift

The salary rate for this role is currently $79100-112800 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
