Job Summary:
The IT Informatics Manager plans, establishes, and manages information technology (IT) and system optimization projects, provides troubleshooting and consultive support to users, and ensures optimal systems performance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Participates in interviewing, selecting, hiring, and onboarding staff.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations and work assignments of staff.
  • Provides training, advice, and direction for staff.
  • Delivers regular performance feedback and constructive performance evaluations; follows established disciplinary and termination procedures as needed.
  • Ensures staff adhere to and follow all organizational policies, safety standards, and healthcare regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Manages assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project.
  • Provides overall ownership, oversight, and ongoing process improvement of application implementation methodologies.
  • Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
  • Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.
  • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare status reports.
  • Mentors and provides subject matter expertise on established processes and best practices; Educates and champions concepts to IT staff and leaders as well as customer stakeholders.
  • Acts as a liaison between operations and the application and technical resources as it relates to assigned application initiatives.
  • Anticipates and identifies problems and issues and provides solutions and suggestions as needed.
  • Analyzes and evaluates clinic/user current state workflow.
  • Communicates project schedules, tasks, issues and overall status to the project manager with a written status report.
  • Serves as a consultant to optimize workflow and care processes related to clinical information management post clinical implementation.
  • Works closely with management and the project team to evaluate and optimize the use of clinical informatics by clinical and non-clinical users.
  • Develops and maintains high quality documentation and training materials.
  • Collaborates with management and project team to deliver and evaluate quality training materials and agendas inclusive of system and process changes.
  • Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Advanced understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the healthcare systems business, clinical or financial systems.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of project management principles and planning.
  • Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and practices.
  • Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware used in the organization and the industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to motivate groups of people to complete a project in a timely manner.

Education and Experience:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of IT related experience in healthcare, consulting, or training.

Preferred:
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting utilizing clinical information systems, including EMR.
  • 1+ years of experience in program management.

Other Requirements:
  • New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022).
  • Must reside within the state of Arizona.
