Job description

SpaceXAI's mission is to create AI systems that can accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. Our team is small, highly motivated, and focused on engineering excellence. This organization is for individuals who appreciate challenging themselves and thrive on curiosity. We operate with a flat organizational structure. All employees are expected to be hands-on and to contribute directly to the company's mission. Leadership is given to those who show initiative and consistently deliver excellence. Work ethic and strong prioritization skills are important. All employees are expected to have strong communication skills. They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Lead, Inventory Specialist at SpaceXAI, you will oversee warehouse and inventory operations supporting our rapidly expanding data centers. You will lead the receiving, storage, kitting, issuance, and tracking of high-value servers, networking equipment, power and cooling components, spare parts, and infrastructure materials. In this role you will mentor team members, manage daily priorities and backlogs, drive inventory accuracy, and ensure material is available when needed for construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations. You are expected to be hands-on, maintain a high sense of urgency, and continuously improve processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support daily/weekly team meetings by participating in ways to help the team improve
  • Oversee daily shift backlogs and inventory-related queues. Maintain continual oversight of incoming receipts, RMA backlogs, and outgoing material requests to ensure compliance with metric targets
  • Re-assign daily shift resources to meet demands and prioritize critical data center hardware, spare parts, and infrastructure materials
  • Provide input to employees' performance
  • Function as focal point for area group production coordinators, Site Operations, and priorities related to inventory and material flow
  • Participate in adding to the area's to-do lists for improvement projects
  • Fulfill resource gaps when shifts are short-handed
  • Mentor employees to meet supervisor expectations for the job
  • Train continuously to improve the workers' skills in inventory accuracy, material handling, and system processes
  • Monitor department consumables, spare parts, and critical inventory levels; drive reordering and replenishment
  • Monitor the general inventory/fulfillment email inbox and resolve issues promptly
  • Receive, inspect, store, and issue servers, networking gear, power/cooling components, parts, details, and hardware as required to support data center construction, expansion, and operations
  • Store parts and materials in bins, drawers, racks, and designated locations; accurately identify part numbers and storage locations
  • Perform picking functions to make up necessary kits of parts, material, and hardware; ascertain that all items are available and accounted for in kit
  • Maintain strict material handling practices in accordance with procedures, especially for high-value and sensitive equipment
  • Monitor shelf-life storage and maintain proper rotation of stock (FIFO)
  • Maintain accurate environmental and temperature requirements for any temperature-sensitive materials
  • Interface with other fulfillment centers, other sites, Shipping, Receiving, Planning, Quality Control, Purchasing, Procurement, and related departments to resolve problems relative to receipt and distribution of material
  • Maintain good housekeeping and organization of warehouse and staging areas for efficiency (5S principles)
  • Support the organization's metric goals and objectives for inventory accuracy, cycle count compliance, and material availability
  • Conduct and oversee regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations
  • Manage Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes, including inspection, documentation, and coordination with vendors
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with data entry and inventory tracking systems
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
