Job Summary

The Material Planning Analyst procures purchased components and serves as the central point of contact in support of the Supply Chain Strategy with a focus on interpreting data, spotting trends and triggers for use in decision making. This role is the materials planning SME for assigned commodities (domestic and international Direct Materials and Indirect/MRO), ensuring on-time supplier deliveries to support production and analyzing supplier pricing and market data to inform sourcing and purchasing decisions.

Job Duties
  • Monitor and manage international and domestic supplier purchase orders from creation through delivery, ensuring on time receipt to support production schedules and minimize line-down risk; includes end-to-end procurement of Indirect and MRO materials such as maintenance supplies, spare parts, safety items, and facility consumables
  • Optimize and manage MRP parameters in Oracle ERP system to optimize buying/planning process.
  • Plan and track international container shipments across all transit modes including port, ocean, and rail, while collaborating with Logistics to enhance inbound transportation efficiencies and freight cost management
  • Calculate landed and total cost via sourcing analysis; analyze material sourcing activities and prepare cost models and spend analysis to support cost-effective procurement strategies, ensure supply continuity, and inform sourcing decisions.
  • Develop, maintain & optimize inventory strategy for assigned categories.
  • Build/Maintain supplier relationships acting as the key liaison for all supplier matters.
  • Analyzes material sourcing activities to support cost effective procurement strategies and ensure supply continuity.
  • Supports sourcing initiatives by preparing cost models and spend analysis
  • Participate and manage assigned ECNs with external supplier base.
  • Support Procurement Leadership Team with analytical data for various projects including vendor management and strategy creation, implementation, and periodic supplier business reviews.
  • Serve as a backup for other positions within the Material Planning group.
  • Work with the quality department to drive corrective action with suppliers making sure they are being held accountable.
  • Collaborate with Logistics to enhance inbound transportation efficiencies.
  • Drive continuous improvement through root cause identification and corrective action management. Ability to travel up to 5-10%. Other projects and tasks may be assigned, as needed.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in a relevant field of study (Supply Chain, Business) and/or two to five years of professional material planning and/or purchasing experience
  • Experience in both domestic and international planning and logistics
  • Capable of demonstrating proficiency with spreadsheets. Effective problem-solving capabilities including the ability to frame the context of a problem and recommend a solution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Dynamic collaborator who can succeed and grow in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to track and successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Oracle experience highly preferred
