Material Planning and Control 1 Position Overview

The MRP materials planner is responsible for ensuring that the right materials, components, and parts are available at the right time to support aerospace manufacturing and production schedules. This position uses material requirements planning (MRP) and ERP systems to plan material requirements, monitor inventory, coordinate supplier deliveries, and identify potential shortages that could impact production.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Act as the central point of contact for all activities related to the TCM tool @ Milledgeville by designated program
  • Validate incoming purchase orders (POs) and forecasts to ensure alignment with TCM data.
  • Coordinate with buyers to place requisitions and manage incoming POs.
  • Analyze opportunities to consolidate orders by tagging onto existing POs to minimize excess material.
  • Lead bi-weekly LOB meetings with program managers to discuss any shortages or risks
  • Collaborate with Lab personal and Operations to schedule necessary re-tests and ensure timely completion.
  • Work with Program Managers (PMs)for approval to scrap expired materials.
  • Review production schedules, forecasts, and customer requirements to determine material needs.
  • Utilize MRP/ERP systems to calculate material requirements and maintain accurate planning data.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate quantities are available to support production.
  • Track supplier deliveries and communicate with purchasing and suppliers regarding late, incomplete, or delayed shipments.Review and adjust planning schedules based on changes in production demand, engineering changes, or supplier constraints.
  • Assist with managing excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Ensure materials meet aerospace specifications, quality requirements, certifications, traceability, and approved supplier requirements.
Experience and Education Requisites
  • Must be a US Citizen or a Permanent resident per ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) guidelines.
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or a foreign person per ITAR.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 0 to 3 years of experience
  • Excellent organization skills, attention to details, plus verbal and written communication skills
  • This position is 100% onsite.
