About the Role:
As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement and storage of materials within a warehouse or distribution center. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials or products according to established procedures and safety guidelines. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Material Handling: Receive incoming shipments of materials, verify contents against packing slips or purchase orders, and inspect for damage or discrepancies. Unload materials from delivery trucks, transport to designated storage areas, and properly label and organize for inventory management.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records by updating inventory systems, recording stock movements, and conducting regular cycle counts or physical inventories. Monitor inventory levels, identify low-stock items, and coordinate with procurement or supply chain teams to replenish supplies as needed.
  • Order Picking and Packing: Pick materials or products from inventory according to customer orders, sales orders, or production schedules using handheld scanners or picking lists. Pack orders securely and efficiently, ensuring proper packaging materials, labeling, and documentation for shipment.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Prepare shipping documents, labels, and manifests for outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and customer requirements. Load outgoing shipments onto delivery trucks or carriers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
