Our team in Space & Defense is looking for a Materials Manager to join them. You will report to the Managers Excellence Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, VA.

To be considered for Materials Manager, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline.

  • 5 years in Materials Management or Supply Chain or Operations.

  • 2 years leadership or supervision experience

  • Experience working in an ERP system

  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-based skills.

As a Materials Manager, you will:

  • Leadproduction control (PC) functions for all Value Streamsfor the Central Plants

  • Supervise ERP planners, materials analysts, and other roles as assigned.

  • Maintain adequate oversight on timely issuance of production orders, material movement/flow through the plant in support of the overall OTS KPI.

  • Ensures accurate inventory transactions to include cycle counting in-house and offshore

  • Communicate and Coordinate between different functions and levels with stakeholders

  • Analyze system data to assure production orders are effectively cancelled or closed on a regular basis.

  • Prioritize work for the teamin full support of themonthly shipping plan / goal.

  • Lead conflict resolution within, as well as external to, the PC team.

  • Provides active feedback while identifying areas to train and/orimprovement for the PC team.

  • Drive a Continuous Improvement Culture forworkflows and processes & procedures.

  • Other duties as needed / assigned.

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, and Scheduling to optimize part settings to drive right levels of inventory, and support customer delivery commitments.

  • Investigate and resolve inconsistencies with in-house inventory as well as offshore inventory

  • Assure the accuracy and integrity of the data in the computer-based materials system by maintaining appropriate control procedures within the department and by supporting efforts of other departments to maintain the database.
