Position Summary:

The Material Handler is responsible for accurately gathering, organizing, and preparing components and maintaining machines and equipment needed for production jobs. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that all required materials are available and correctly kitted to meet production schedules. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position is onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Kitting and Assembly:
    • Gather and assemble components and materials according to job specifications and production schedules.
    • Verify that all necessary materials are available for each job and kit them accurately.
    • Label and document kits appropriately to ensure clarity and ease of use for production teams.
  2. Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor.
    • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through routine counts and data entry.
    • Work with procurement teams to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
    • Ensure that all materials are stored properly to prevent damage or loss.
  1. Equipment Use and Maintenance:
    • Use appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools as needed.
  2. Documentation and Compliance:
    • Complete all required documentation accurately, including work orders, test records, and inventory tracking.
    • Adhere to workplace safety standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure efficient assembly processes.
    • Adhere to any other safety or site policies.
  3. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with team members, supervisors, and engineers to meet production timelines and quality standards.

    • Perform all other work or tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical field preferred.
  • Experience picking, kitting, or handling material/components for make-to-order products.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and basic computer skills.
  • Familiarity with powered industrial trucks/forklifts
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, bending, or kneeling.
  • Comfort working in a production environment with potential exposure to electrical hazards (with proper PPE provided).
