JOB DESCRIPTION
The Material Handler Associate is responsible for unloading and loading raw materials from trucks, tracking and controlling raw material inventory, issuing materials to various departments, and moving work-in-process items within the plant. This role is based in a manufacturing plant, where the ability to lift and carry over 50 lbs is required. Safety precautions must be followed when operating equipment and tools. The Material Handler Associate must demonstrate the ability to follow instructions, take initiative, and complete tasks accurately and on time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Unload and load raw materials and vendor parts from incoming trucks with forklift
• Organize and load incoming raw materials onto material racks
• Receive raw materials, vendor parts, and UPS shipments, and enter them into the company’s ERP system as necessary
• Store raw materials in designated locations following safe forklift practices
• Pull and issue raw materials to other departments as needed
• Return unused raw materials to their proper locations in the material racks
• Maintain accurate physical inventory records
• Complete necessary paperwork and system transactions promptly
• Provide backup support to the Shipping department
• Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
• Forklift experience is required.
• Experience in packing, shipping, and receiving is a plus
• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Strong organizational skills are preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively within the organization and professionally represent the company to suppliers and visitors
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision, while also seeking help when needed
• Reliable transportation is required
• ERP system experience is preferred, but not required
