Job description

Domtar Paper, the largest integrated manufacturer and marketer of uncoated freesheet paper in North America, has entry level production positions available at our DuBois Converting & Distribution location.  We are seeking skilled individuals to operate our state-of-the-art equipment, systems, and processes. We offer a competitive wage & benefits package:

  • A rate of $23.63/hour with the opportunity for overtime.  Potential first year earnings of $51,600.

Entry Level- Material Handler:
Employee will operate machinery that converts paper roll stock into cut-size paper.

Work as part of a team, while maintaining focus on safety and quality.
Be driven to achieve and advance.
Follow written or electronic standard operating procedures and instructions.
Essential functions:
Prepping paper rolls for the machine, operate and clean machinery, utilize cutting tools to remove packaging and creating machine splices.
Physical lifting is a requirement in this role and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
General housekeeping, periodic maintenance of equipment, and other duties as needed.
Material Handler: 
Maintaining focus on safety, quality and daily inspections.
Operate tools and equipment: Powered Industrial Trucks such as a forklift, and clamp truck. This will allow for pick up and movement of rolls of paper, pallets, finished products, unloading and loading of materials from trucks. Proper use of a hoist, dolly (propane tanks).
Physical lifting is a requirement in this role and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
General housekeeping, periodic maintenance of equipment, and other duties as needed.

 HOURS:    7:00AM - 7:00PM AND 7:00PM - 7:00AM (12-hour shifts)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Industrial experience or mechanical aptitude are helpful.  
Basic math, reading comprehension, writing and computer skills.
Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.
