POSITION SUMMARY:

Quality Control Supervisor provides support to the QC manager by overseeing and working alongside inspectors and inspector leads providing dimensional inspection support. Ensures product compliance to MEC requirements and processes, procedures, and contractual obligations. Supervisors will perform level 1 and level 2 inspections.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the QC manager by overseeing and working alongside QC Inspectors and Leads, adhering to the Supervisor Roles and Responsibilities Checklist.

Maintain constant vigilance of oldest and priority items on receiving inspection backlog or PDR report. Constraints must be resolved expeditiously in order to maintain workflow.

Communication: respond to internal/external customers in a timely manner.

New employee onboarding: Complete QC onboarding plan for all incoming associates (30/60/90-day reviews).

- Lead daily/weekly huddles ensuring huddle agenda and board is being updated and followed as required.

- Identify needed disciplinary actions based on employee adherence to company policies and Roles and Responsibilities.

- Review and Approve employee timecards.

- Review, approve, and audit Quality Notifications and Inspection Reports generated by direct reports for accuracy.

- Lead one-on-one meetings with direct personnel.

Provide training to Work Instructions, Standard Practices, and Training Reference's ensuring accuracy and adherence.

Attend, conduct and document Stop the Process STP huddles representing Quality Control.

Evaluate product complexity and assign work based on skill level and appropriate work center.

Ensure 6S practices are followed. Document any FOD or Safety incident / near misses.

Generate inspection reports in accordance with MEC policy.

Identify and segregate suspect non-conforming material and generate Quality Notification (QN) in accordance with MEC Policy.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

High School graduate diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate

Certification in GD&T required and/or 5 years of basic GD&T experience

Five years minimum experience as a QC supervisor

Certifications in relevant ASQ areas, or college degrees in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or other technical fields are a plus

Excellent communications skills - both written and verbal

Able to perform basic math skills

Detail-oriented and self-motivated

Able to work with others and be a team player

Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn

Able to perform basic computer tasks and have proficient typing skills

Familiarity with SAP a plus

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software

Ability to lift a minimum 35lbs.

Medium-to-large inspection laboratory/machine shop environment

Fast paced environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

SALARY RANGE:

Base Salary Range (Inglewood only): $28.85 to $36.35 per hour
