The Role

The Quality Control Lab Manager will manage and direct the day-to-day operation of the QC laboratory. This individual will be responsible for providing leadership to the laboratory resources , including, but not limited to data produced by the chemists and technicians, enforce PPE rules, ensure SOP's are followed for analysis and data manipulation, evaluate the skills of supervisors, chemists and technicians in the lab, and give inputs for the performance review process.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Provide leadership for continuous improvements in quality control and quality assurance.
  • Support FFEM quality systems and certifications
  • Manage day-to-day laboratory operations and prioritize workloads to meet business needs.
  • Be a main point of contact to support manufacturing and engineering process requirements.
  • React, respond, and report out non-standard, OOC, and OOS conditions generated from all levels of the manufacturing process.
  • Promote, improve, and enforce safety by supporting current practices, engaging new innovative development, and administering all aspects of safety by supporting EHS.
  • Drive metrology development with GR&R, training, and instrument troubleshooting to flawlessly implement and maintain analytical methods.
  • Drive change in all areas of the lab for the benefit of FFEM and its customers.
  • Support and drive management of change from beginning to end.
  • Administrate and promote instrument health, maintenance, calibration, and outside service support.
  • Evaluation and performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Overall scheduling of personnel to cover company requirements in assigned area.
  • Ensure the team is functionally cohesively and maintaining good working relationship with all other departments and team members.
  • Responsible for the completion of corrective actions and laboratory audits
  • Set Laboratory objectives for CIP and Organizational directives
  • Perform other duties, as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in chemistry or a related science degree with five years of experience in managing a fast paced, production support laboratory.
  • Previous supervisory and statistical experience required.
  • Database administration experience to include MS Access and SQL Server.
  • Prior experience in the semiconductor industry is desire.
  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, semiconductor process chemicals
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 certification and Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point, Power BI, and JMP statistical software
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and within different functional groups
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment to include multi-tasking and handling constant changes in priorities.
  • Must be able to cover off-shift needs, including evenings and weekends, as required
  • Must have a valid Arizona drivers' license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
