Job description

🚀 Be the Reason the Warehouse Floor and the Data Always Match

📍 Role: Onsite Inventory Control Manager
📍 Location: Dallas–Fort Worth, TX (Onsite, Warehouse Floor)

At Coastal Trading Ventures, we're building the operational infrastructure to support one of the fastest-growing eCommerce fulfillment operations in the country and we're looking for an operational "Hunter" to help us get there.

We have a complex inventory environment involving raw materials, kitting, and high-volume FBA outbound, and we're in the middle of transitioning from a custom WMS to a new tier-1 system. Your mission is to make sure our physical reality matches our data, auditing the lifecycle of every unit from purchase order to the moment it hits the dock to the moment it leaves on a truck. Coastal Trading Ventures is the physical fulfillment engine behind Luminize, our sister company and one of the top Amazon growth partners in the country — same leadership, same team, different side of the business.

If you want to do work that's hands-on, high-stakes, and genuinely impactful on day one, we'd love to meet you.

🎯 What You'll Be Doing

  • Enforce a strict 3-way match (PO vs. Packing Slip vs. Physical Count) at the dock — you're the final authority on what we pay for
  • Own the "grey area" of inventory during production and kitting: track units pulled for a build, ensure they're consumed correctly in the system, and reconcile leftover raw materials immediately
  • Act as the "Data Cleaner" for our upcoming WMS migration — identify bad data patterns in our current custom system and ensure clean, accurate counts migrate to the new software
  • Go beyond adjusting the count: run root-cause "forensics" on every discrepancy — receiver error, theft, scanning glitch — and fix the process so it doesn't happen again
  • Execute daily cycle counts and audits to maintain 99.9% inventory accuracy
  • Tell a Warehouse Manager or Receiver "No, this is wrong, do it again" with professional firmness when the count doesn't hold up
  • Spot where SOPs are broken and rewrite them — you don't just follow process, you architect it

✅ What You Bring

  • 7+ years in inventory control, ideally in a facility that does assembly/kitting — not just pick-and-pack — receiving FTL and LTL with mixed pallets and near-identical products
  • Experience working with WMS platforms including tier-1 systems like NetSuite and SAP, plus systems built on Excel/Sheets and custom/proprietary legacy tools — you're comfortable navigating imperfect software mid-upgrade
  • A "floor first" mentality — this isn't a clipboard role. You'll physically inspect pallets, climb ladders, and open boxes to verify counts
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills — able to export raw data from a custom WMS and use VLOOKUPs/Pivots to find what the system is missing
  • Uncompromising integrity and the communication skills to explain complex inventory discrepancies to both executive leadership and floor staff

📈 Growth & Career Opportunities at Coastal Trading Ventures
Growth isn't just something we drive in our systems — it's how we think about our people.

You'll have visibility into clear career paths and what it takes to advance into senior operations, specialized, or leadership roles. You'll benefit from:

  • Mentorship from experienced operations leadership
  • Cross-functional exposure to supply chain, warehouse operations, and catalog teams
  • A culture that rewards initiative, curiosity, and follow-through

If you're ready to take ownership of something that matters and grow with it, you'll be in good company here.
