Job Description

Schedule: Monday-Friday Day Shift

Pay: $25.82/h

Location: Ottawa



We're looking for a dependable and motivated Material Handler to join a collaborative team environment. This role offers a great mix of warehouse operations, forklift work, inventory management, and administrative responsibilities, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety throughout their day.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a propane counterbalance forklift to load and unload trucks.
  • Safely move, store, and handle materials, waste products, and drums.
  • Perform shipping, receiving, inventory control, and cycle counts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, shipment, and customer records.
  • Complete data entry, email communications, Excel updates, and system transactions.
  • Process and clean drums using industrial cleaning equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Proactively complete inventory, administrative, and housekeeping tasks during downtime.

Essential Skills

  • Valid Class 4 Forklift Certification (Counterbalance/Propane).
  • Experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or material handling.
  • Inventory control and cycle count experience.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, email, and computer systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and take initiative.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs unassisted.
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance record.
  • Flexible to work overtime and occasional early starts when required.

This is a Contract position based out of Ottawa, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.82 - $25.82/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
