Job description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Identify, implement and track critical metrics for inventory with reaction points clearly identified
  • Investigates and solves problems through root cause analysis resulting from cycle counting
  • Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to
    achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity and delivery.
  • Keeps abreast of materials and warehousing capacity and constraints
  • Manage department associates to create a team-based environment, with open/candid
    communications and direct accountability to ensure the departments operate at a very efficient level.
  • Deliver world-class delivery, inventory performance with a focus on quality, on-time delivery and competitive costs.
  • As part of the leadership team, develop the annual business plan/tactical plan and ensure all department objectives are achieved as set in the plan.
  • Interview applicants for the department in accordance to applicable laws. Train new employees in the department.
  • Oversee and manage annual performance and ongoing performance management within the department.
  • Recommend and take corrective action in compliance with quality audits, issues, etc.
  • Support the Critical Success Factors of the business as directed by the manager.
  • Oversee and monitor the receiving and materials department.
  • Manage Inventory levels, inventory accuracy, and integrity.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Leading Excess and Obsolete Inventory process/material, using root cause analysis to minimize effect on the company
  • Manage inventory operations at multiple locations
  • Oversee Outside Processing routing step for all internal discrete jobs sent out for machine work oplating
  • Support the division by being the liaison between the company and auditors (Internal or External)
  • Develop storage plan strategy for make/buy and free issued materials and products
  • Provide leadership in on-going cost reduction and continuous improvement programs.
  • Develop, implement and execute logistics sourcing strategies, practices and procedures in alignment with business unit leaders.
  • Develop and implement negotiation strategies for logistic services; including, but not limited to all types of inbound and outbound transportation, warehousing, crating/packaging, freight bill auditing

Minimum Qualifications
• BS degree in technical field; or 5 + years related experience and/or training; equivalent
combination of education and experience break down supply chain base.
• Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Strong materials management background required.
• Must have demonstrated track record of cost reductions.
• Must demonstrate good management skills and be capable of evaluating and staffing Materials
organization with strong players

Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements
• Good negotiation skills.
• Experience with ISO 9000 quality system requirements.
• Understand how to utilize MRP/ERP systems.
• Ability to develop a system to eliminate material line shortages and multiple schedule changes.
• Ability to manage inventory levels and increase inventory turns.
• Effective use of MS Office Suite.
• Six Sigma experience; green or black belt certification a plus.
• Knowledge of Oracle MRP systems a plus.
• Must be able to work extended hours when required.
• Understanding of financial impact of effective inventory management.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good organization skills.
• Must be responsible and dependable.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Must have demonstrated excellent leadership skills.
