Description:

Oversee activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. Develops policies and procedures, and implements material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures. Monitors availability of materials in the supply chain and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels. Manages sourcing and supplying raw materials, utilities and outside services, as well coordinating global procurement efforts. Reviews and plans requirements for acceptable inventory. May oversee work with customers in auditing customer inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Companies in a retail environment, managers responsible for the planning, inventory, logistics, import / export, distribution, inventory control and shipment of merchandise from vendors to retail store locations or the end customer, may match here.

SCOPE OF MANAGEMENT

Manages the activities of multiple sections or a discipline through subordinate supervisors and/or professionals. Guides by function or department practices and well-defined management precedents. Executes financials, business planning, organizational priorities and workforce. This role may lead into Managing activities of two or more disciplines or a department. May also Oversee experienced level professionals and/or may be responsible for subordinate managers. Frequently advises team(s) on moderately complex matters. Accountable for department budget which may be broad and have far reaching impact on the business segment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Delegates and administers the procurement functions; manages organization structure and manpower personnel necessary to accomplish objectives.

• Ensures compliance with documented procedures and specific defense procurement regulations.

• Responsible for the overall performance of the procurement functions and accountable for the results.

• Responsible for internal feedback, quality and accuracy of own work

• Responsible for the training of personnel for Syteline functions as well maintaining/developing Purchasing procedures/reporting in Syteline.

• Requires the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within both IMS facilities in order to achieve an optimal outcome of objective.

• Responsible for documentation retention and organization for Military/SOC audit needs. Is aware of and compliant with the requirements for the duration period for retention of required documents, where applicable.

• Participation in product line acquisition. Including, but not limited to: Purchasing Integration oversight, communication of Procurement needs, Awareness of acquisition timeline.

Requirements:

Requires a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

Candidate has extensive experience or qualifications / certifications. May be a team/project leader, but without people management accountability.
