About this opportunity:

The Department of Counseling Psychology, Social Psychology and Counseling seeks a highly qualified applicant with a doctorate in counseling psychology to contribute to clinical training in the APA accredited doctoral program in counseling psychology and master's program in clinical mental health counseling, accredited by the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council.
Duties and responsibilities include administrative duties, clinical supervision/instruction, and teaching within the Counseling Practicum Clinic (CPC) in the Department of Counseling Psychology, Social Psychology & Counseling (CPSY).
This is a full-time 12-month professional position.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:

Description:

Contribute to clinical training in the APA accredited doctoral program in counseling psychology and master's program in clinical mental health counseling, accredited by the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council. Duties and responsibilities include administrative duties, clinical supervision/instruction, and teaching within the Counseling Practicum Clinic (CPC) in the Department of Counseling Psychology, Social Psychology & Counseling (CPSY). Full-time, 12-month position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinic Administrative Duties:

Development/oversight/implementation of CPC policies/procedures in collaboration with clinic director

  • With clinic director, maintainall standards related to relevant accrediting bodies. Assure the provision of counseling and psychological services in a manner consistent with accepted professional and ethical standards andstatelaw

Clinical Supervision/Instruction Duties:

Individual and group clinical supervision and instruction of counseling psychology doctoral students engaged in CPC clinical activities

  • Oversee/manage master's internship in the CPC, including providing clinical supervision
  • Potentially carry a small clinical caseload in the CPC, for teaching and training purposes (e.g., co-therapy; recorded sessions to be used for teaching purposes, etc.)
  • The equivalent of 1 weekday per week (off-site or on-site) will be permitted for providing direct clinical services, in order to maintain clinical skillset

Teaching & Teaching Related Administrative Duties

  • Teach 1- 2 courses per fall, spring, and summer semesters, as needed. Required course instruction for Master's Clinical Mental Health Counseling Pre-Practicum & Practicum courses.
  • Oversee/coordinate clinical master's practicum sequencing.
  • Provide didactic trainings and facilitate new student and adjunct faculty orientations

Service - Departmental, College, University, & Professional:

  • Participate as voting member in CPSY facultymeetings. Maintain regular contact departmental faculty to coordinate clinical training needs
  • Actively contribute to the intellectual and professional life of the Department, College of Health, Ball State University, and the surrounding community through general service and preventive, developmental, and outreach orientation
  • Involvement in department committees related to clinical training and the CPC
  • Professional service activities are encouraged

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from an APA-Approved program in Counseling Psychology
  • At least one year of post degree clinical experience
  • Eligible to be licensed as a Psychologist with a Health Service Provider designation in Indiana

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APA Accredited pre-doctoral internship
  • Clinical experience with community populations as a licensed psychologist
  • Clinical experience with youth and their families
  • Experience teaching and/or providing clinical supervision in psychology
  • Experience conducting psychological assessments
  • Experience in administrative role(s)
