Human Resource Assistant

Location: Union League Boys & Girls Club Headquarters

Job Type: Part-Time

Department: Human Resources

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail oriented and motivated Human Resource Assistant to support our Human Resources department, with a primary focus on recruiting and onboarding. This role is ideal for someone looking to begin a career in HR and gain hands-on experience in talent acquisition and employee engagement.

The Human Resource Assistant will help ensure a smooth hiring process and a positive onboarding experience for new employees.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting Support

  • Assist with posting job openings on job boards and company career pages
  • Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate communication between candidates and hiring managers
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and candidate records
  • Conduct initial phone screenings

Onboarding & New Hire Experience

  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding processes
  • Prepare onboarding materials and employee documentation
  • Ensure completion of new hire paperwork and compliance requirements
  • Serve as a point of contact for new hires during their onboarding period

Administrative HR Support

  • Maintain accurate employee records and files
  • Assist with HR documentation and reporting
  • Respond to basic employee inquiries or direct them to appropriate resources
  • Support HR Generalist with additional administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
