Job description

PODS moves and stores America's stuff — and our Finance org is ready to run AI and data as a strategy, not a side project. That's your charter.

Most finance teams have brilliant people wrangling data instead of shaping decisions. We're hiring someone to close that gap.

Reporting to the CFO, you'll own the AI, machine learning, and automation agenda across the full finance function — close, FP&A, accounting, treasury, and procurement. You'll find the real ROI, prove it with pilots, scale what works, and make finance genuinely fluent in these tools — setting the standards everyone follows alongside IT, Security, Internal Audit, and Legal.

What you'll do

  • Set and execute the finance AI/automation roadmap, with hard numbers on impact
  • Build the data backbone — pipelines, models, dashboards, and self-service analytics
  • Apply predictive ML to forecasting, scenario modeling, and anomaly detection
  • Set the guardrails: governance, controls, and vendor risk that keep it SOX-ready

What you bring

  • A track record of taking transformation from concept to measurable, live impact
  • Hands-on fluency in AI/ML and modern data architecture, plus real finance understanding
  • The judgment to balance innovation against risk — and credibility to own responsible use
  • Bachelor's degree required (degrees in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Science, or Computer Science are highly preferred). Master’s degree or MBA with a heavy analytical focus is a plus.
  • Requires 6 to 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, financial systems, or digital finance transformation consulting.
  • AI & Automation Expertise: Demonstrated track record of evaluating, piloting, or deploying machine learning, predictive modeling, generative AI, or intelligent automation solutions within a corporate finance or enterprise adjacent function.
  • Finance Core Literacy: Deep understanding of core finance and accounting processes, data structures, and workflows—specifically the financial close cycle, general ledger architecture, FP&A, working capital management, and corporate reporting.
  • System Capabilities: Extensive hands-on experience navigating enterprise ERP software and modern cloud-based corporate financial planning platforms.
  • Data Mastery: High proficiency with data analytics tooling and cloud data environments. Proven capability to extract, combine, and model data from multiple disparate sources to drive corporate-level strategic analysis.
  • Risk & Controls Fluency: Strong working knowledge of responsible-AI deployment, data privacy frameworks, model bias mitigation, data governance principles, and internal control structures (including SOX considerations).
  • Execution & Drive: Proven ability to manage multiple complex, highly technical projects simultaneously under tight deadlines while directing cross-functional stakeholder groups.

Ready to build the finance function of the next decade? Apply now!
