Being anExercise SpecialistatCleveland Clinicis a wonderful way to touch the lives of members and patients every day. In this role, you will support others as they create healthy and safe habits while exercising in a fun environment. You willassistwith various tasks, such as assessing physical needs, implementing programs, designing individualizedplansand ensuring safety across the unit. Throughout the process, you will gain extensive hands-on experience in an exciting healthcare setting.

A caregiver in this position works40 hoursper week between 5:00AM - 10:00PM.

Positions at Bath and Green Health and Wellness Centers will be available.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Be responsible forphysical assessments, exercise prescription, exercise floor coverage, equipment cleanliness/preventive maintenance, policy enforcement, member exercise incentive programming and alwaysdeliveringexcellent customer service.

  • Make regular rounds of the exercise floor to ensure safety andassistmembers and guests with exercise-related issues or questions.

  • Schedule and administer computerized health risk appraisal and physical fitness assessments to new and existing members.

  • Prescribe individual exercise programs that follow ACSM established guidelines based on assessment.

  • Follow the equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance check list. All equipment needs to be inspected and cleaned daily.

  • Follow established procedures when exercise equipment is found to be malfunctioning to get the equipment operational within 24 hours, including posting of theappropriate statussignage, notifying theManagerand recording the problem in the equipment loglocatedat the Wellness Service Desk.

  • Develop and implement member exercise incentive programs to motivate and enhance consistency and retention.

  • Maintain current information on all club programs, services and activities and promote regularly.

  • Displayproficiencyin the operation ofthe computerhardware and KI software.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, PhysicalEducationor a related field

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

  • Excellent communication and customer service-related skills

  • Ability to work variable hours

  • Experience in the administration of physical assessment exercise prescriptions and program development

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Master's degree

  • AED certification

  • ACSM, ACE, AFAA, NSCA or related certifications

  • One year of experience as an instructor in a community, corporate,commercialand/or clinical health/fitness facility

  • Basic computer operational skills

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $15.75

Maximum hourly: $21.65
