Job description

Capital University seeks passionate science educators with experience in general chemistry and organic chemistry for part-time instructor positions in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in Summer and Fall 2026. For Summer 2026, successful candidates should be able to teach both lecture and laboratory in general chemistry (for STEM majors) and/or organic chemistry. Students in these courses will be chemistry, biochemistry, biology, environmental science, and exercise science majors, with potentially some other majors who are planning for professional school in health-related fields. For Fall 2026, successful candidates should be able to teach both lecture and laboratory in general chemistry for STEM majors (Chemical Principles) and/or general, organic, and biological chemistry to primarily nursing majors (GOB Chemistry). Students in these courses will be chemistry, biochemistry, biology, environmental science, exercise science, and nursing majors. There could be opportunities to teach other introductory and upper-level courses as well as University Signature Learning program courses in the sciences during the academic year as well. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment or related experiences.
