Summary: The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise analytics solutions that enable clinical, operational, financial, and strategic decision-making across Broward Health. Working collaboratively with clinical, operational, financial, technical, and executive stakeholders, this position transforms healthcare data into meaningful dashboards, reports, visualizations, governed datasets, and other analytics products that support organizational performance, patient care, and informed decision-making.
This position participates in all phases of the enterprise analytics lifecycle, including requirements gathering, workflow analysis, data analysis, solution design, data modeling, development, validation, testing, implementation, documentation, and ongoing production support. The Business Intelligence Analyst promotes data quality, standardization, governance, and self-service analytics while supporting Broward Health's enterprise analytics strategy and the continued development of its healthcare analytics capabilities.
Experience with Epic Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle, or comparable enterprise healthcare analytics platforms is preferred but not required. Experience supporting reporting and analytics within an Epic environment is highly desirable.
A. Education or Equivalent Years of Experience
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration, or a related field required.
B. Experience or Equivalent Education
Minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, healthcare analytics, enterprise reporting, data management, decision support, or a related technical field.
Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting dashboards, reports, visualizations, data extracts, or other enterprise analytics solutions using Power BI or comparable business intelligence platforms is required.
Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data modeling, enterprise data warehousing, semantic models, governed datasets, data validation, and data quality principles is required.
Experience gathering and documenting business requirements, analyzing workflows, translating business needs into analytics solutions, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders is preferred.
Experience supporting enterprise healthcare analytics platforms is preferred. Experience with Epic Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle, or comparable healthcare analytics platforms is highly preferred but not required.
Experience with self-service analytics, metadata management, data governance, cloud-based analytics platforms, or modern data architectures is preferred.

Epic Cogito certification is required within 90 days of start date. Additional Cogito certifications to include COSMOS, Caboodle, and Clarity is preferred.
Relevant certifications in Microsoft Power BI, business intelligence, data analytics, data management, or related technologies are preferred but not required.
E. Special Training
Training or experience in healthcare analytics, data visualization, data governance, data quality, requirements analysis, project delivery, or enterprise reporting is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Develops, maintains, enhances, and supports enterprise dashboards, reports, visualizations, extracts, and analytics products that support clinical, operational, financial, regulatory, and strategic decision-making.
  2. Collaborates with clinical, operational, financial, technical, and executive stakeholders to understand business needs, gather and document requirements, evaluate workflows, and translate requirements into effective analytics solutions.
  3. Participates in the full enterprise analytics development lifecycle, including discovery, requirements analysis, solution design, data analysis, development, testing, validation, implementation, documentation, training, and ongoing support.
  4. Develops and maintains SQL queries, data models, semantic models, governed datasets, and related analytics components used to support enterprise reporting and decision support.
  5. Supports enterprise healthcare analytics platforms, which may include Epic Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle, and other healthcare data and analytics platforms as applicable.
  6. Performs data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities to ensure dashboards, reports, extracts, metrics, and datasets are complete, accurate, consistent, and reliable.
  7. Investigates and resolves discrepancies involving source data, business rules, calculations, metrics, reports, dashboards, and data extracts in collaboration with appropriate business and technical teams.
  8. Applies established standards, policies, procedures, development practices, and documentation requirements when creating or modifying enterprise analytics solutions.
  9. Participates in Broward Health data governance initiatives by supporting data definitions, business rules, metadata, data lineage, quality standards, metric standardization, and the use of trusted data sources.
  10. Develops clear and effective visualizations that follow established design, usability, accessibility, and data presentation standards.
  11. Supports self-service analytics by developing reusable datasets, semantic models, templates, documentation, and standardized analytics resources for authorized users.
  12. Provides operational support for production analytics solutions, including incident investigation, troubleshooting, issue resolution, change implementation, performance monitoring, and escalation management.
  13. Develops and executes unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities to validate analytics solutions and assess the impact of changes on existing reports, dashboards, datasets, interfaces, and production processes.
  14. Documents technical designs, business requirements, data definitions, source-to-target mappings, testing results, support procedures, system changes, known issues, and other information necessary to maintain reliable analytics solutions.
  15. Communicates project status, risks, issues, dependencies, findings, and recommendations clearly to team members, leadership, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  16. Manages assigned analytics requests and project activities in accordance with established priorities, delivery timelines, change management practices, service-level expectations, and organizational standards.
  17. Partners with application, interface, database, architecture, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and other IT teams to ensure analytics solutions align with enterprise data, integration, privacy, security, and technology standards.
  18. Protects confidential and sensitive information, including protected health information, by complying with Broward Health privacy, security, access control, and regulatory requirements.
  19. Identifies opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate recurring activities, strengthen data quality, reduce duplication, improve user experience, and increase the value and adoption of enterprise analytics solutions.
  20. Assists with end-user education, solution demonstrations, technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and adoption activities for new or enhanced analytics capabilities.
  21. Maintains awareness of emerging healthcare analytics technologies, visualization practices, industry trends, and regulatory requirements and recommends improvements when appropriate.
  22. Participates in an on-call or after-hours support rotation when required to maintain the availability of critical analytics services.
  23. Performs other job-related duties as assigned based on operational and organizational needs.
