Job description

If you're looking for a special place to build or grow your career, you've found it. Whether you're an experienced professional, a recent college graduate or somewhere in between, IDEX is a place where you can apply your existing skills and learn new ones in an environment where you can make an impact.

With interesting opportunities in engineering, marketing, sales, supply chain, operations, HR, finance, and more across more than 40 diverse businesses around the globe, chances are, we have something special for you.

MISSION

Accelerate profitable MedTech and Healthcare growth by converting early production wins into scalable platforms, expanding into Diagnostics, and mobilizing Mott and IDEX capabilities to solve mission-critical customer problems.

Why this role matters. Mott has moved from prototypes to initial production business with leading MedTech innovators including Intuitive Surgical, AtriCure, Hologic and Boston Scientific. This leader will build on that momentum, create repeatable growth across surgical equipment, implantables and drug delivery, and establish a stronger position in Diagnostics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set and execute a focused MedTech/Healthcare growth strategy across surgical equipment, implantables, drug delivery and Diagnostics.

  • Build a high-quality pipeline through voice-of-customer work, targeted account plans, market intelligence, trade shows and digital lead generation.

  • Win funded development programs and guide opportunities from concept and prototype through qualification, production launch and long-term supply agreements.

  • Lead cross-business selling across IDEX, combining filtration, fluidics, precision components, optics, ceramics and advanced manufacturing into differentiated solutions.

  • Create business cases for new capabilities, partnerships and targeted acquisitions that expand addressable market and customer content.

EXPECTED PERFORMANCE OUTCOMES

  • Build and maintain a qualified $20M-$30M opportunity pipeline with clear account, application, value and next-step discipline.

  • Consistently secure high-value prototype or NRE orders and convert the strongest programs into 1-3 new production agreements (>$1M) annually.

  • Deliver double-digit profitable growth in targeted MedTech/Healthcare segments, with healthy margins and increasing recurring production revenue.

  • Establish 3-5 priority MedTech opportunities and win initial funded development work that creates a credible path to scale.

  • Expand share of wallet at beachhead accounts by introducing adjacent Mott and IDEX capabilities.

MAJOR CHALLENGES

  • Navigating long, technical and regulated sales cycles while maintaining urgency, milestones and customer confidence.

  • Moving from single components to multiple high-value components or integrated solutions without sacrificing margin or speed.

  • Aligning engineering, R&D, operations, quality and multiple IDEX businesses around a common customer outcome in a matrix organization.

  • Building application depth in Diagnostics and other adjacencies while staying selective about markets, customers and programs.

  • Forecasting ramp timing and investment needs amid customer qualification, validation and product-release uncertainty.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES

  • 10+ years in business development, strategic sales or product commercialization in MedTech, Diagnostics, Life Sciences or highly engineered B2B markets.

  • Strong network and credibility with OEM engineering, R&D, sourcing, quality and executive stakeholders; experience with regulated product development and qualification.

  • Track record of building pipelines, closing development agreements and scaling engineered products into repeat production.

  • Technical degree in engineering, materials science, chemistry, biomedical sciences or related field preferred; MBA a plus.

  • Entrepreneurial, analytically rigorous and commercially decisive. Clear communicator, persistent relationship builder and trusted cross-functional leader.

  • Travel up to 40%.

Are you ready to join a different kind of company where our people, our culture, and our commitments are centered around providing trusted solutions that improve lives around the world?
