Scientist II

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Scientist II to join a well-known client's team in Ridgefield, CT. This role will focus on developing and applying advanced image analysis and digital pathology solutions to support biomedical research and translational science. The Scientist II will play a key role in building and optimizing imaging pipelines, leveraging machine learning and quantitative analysis to extract meaningful biological insights from complex datasets. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional experts and contribute to cutting-edge research in a highly innovative and collaborative environment.

  • Develop and optimize image analysis pipelines for both 2D and 3D biomedical imaging data.
  • Perform quantitative analysis of histology, IHC, IF, and multiplex imaging datasets.
  • Apply classical image processing and machine learning techniques for segmentation, feature extraction, and classification.
  • Integrate and utilize multiple digital pathology platforms such as HALO, Visiopharm, QuPath, and CellProfiler.
  • Collaborate with pathologists, biologists, and data scientists to define analytical endpoints and study objectives.
  • Validate image-derived biomarkers and ensure analytical rigor and reproducibility.
  • Document analysis workflows and maintain reproducible pipelines in accordance with best practices.
  • Support interpretation and visualization of imaging data for scientific reports and presentations.
  • Enable cross-team collaboration by sharing image analysis tools, pipelines, and algorithms.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree with applicable experience in a related scientific discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in scientific programming languages such as Python and/or R.
  • Extensive experience applying machine learning techniques, particularly in biomedical or pathology imaging.
  • Hands-on experience with digital pathology image analysis, including cell segmentation and marker quantification from multiplex IHC datasets.
  • Experience with image analysis platforms such as HALO AI, Visiopharm, QuPath, or CellProfiler.
  • Experience in tumor immunology and/or histopathology is a plus.
  • Prior experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., bioinformatics, computational biology, biomedical engineering, or related field) required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and think analytically.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to reproducibility and data integrity.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex computational results into clear scientific insights.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
