Position description
Professional Researcher Series positions are occasionally available throughout the year in the Division of Biomedical Sciences in the School of Medicine at the University of California, Riverside. The Division is conducting an open search for Professional Researchers in various disciplines. Positions are filled as they become available based on the funds and priorities of different laboratories or research centers.
Initial appointment for the Professional Researcher Series is for one year, and renewal is based on availability of support. Successful candidates must also have clear potential or demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student body. Salary commensurate with experience. The posted UC salary scales UCOP compensation index set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment.
Advancement through the ranks at the University of California is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input.
Professional Researcher Series
These positions are academic appointments in the non-senate series and do not have teaching responsibilities. Candidates must demonstrate continuous and effective engagement in independent and creative research activity of high quality and significance, equivalent to the Professor series.
Assistant Professional Researchers must possess a Ph.D. degree (or its equivalent).
Associate and Full Professional Researchers must possess a Ph.D. degree (or its equivalent) and demonstrate University and/or public service.
