Job description

Job Title: based
Location: Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, including Sundays from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator will plan, organize, and oversee Catholic faith-formation programs for children, youth, and adults at Maxwell AFB. Responsibilities include coordinating Sunday School, sacramental preparation, Bible studies, Vacation Bible School, and seasonal programs; developing lesson plans; recruiting and supervising volunteers; maintaining child-safety compliance records; managing program calendars, facilities, supplies, and publicity; and submitting required reports to the Catholic chaplain.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in Catholic religious education, ministry, teaching, or program coordination
  • Knowledge of Catholic doctrine, worship practices, and sacramental formation
  • Strong organizational, communication, and volunteer-management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Fluent English and professional conduct
  • Current or obtainable letter of good standing from the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA
  • Ability to pass required criminal-history, child-care, and installation background checks
  • Availability on Sunday mornings and for major Christmas, Easter, and Vacation Bible School activities

This is an independent-contractor position supporting the Maxwell AFB Catholic community in a religiously diverse military environment.
