Prosector – Necropsy
As an Prosector for our Necropsy team in Sherbrooke, you will be responsible for performing post-mortem examination of animals while following ethical regulations and study design guidelines.
In this role, primary responsibilities include:
- Euthanize animals prior to necropsy.
- Perform animal tissue evaluation for pathologists.
- Weigh and document all abnormalities of the organs.
- Evaluate for abnormalities and follow tissue conversation methods.
We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:
- College Diploma in Animal Health, inventory and research in biology or in Biotechnology or bachelor’s degree in Biology or any related to science discipline.
- Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change.
- Demonstrate flexibility and ability to work independently.
- Understanding and writing English is required.
- Being able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.).
Role Specific Information:
- Location: 1580 rue Ida-Métivier, Sherbrooke (Fleurimont), QC, J1E 0B5
- Transportation: Easily accessible using Sherbrooke’s public transit system. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station
- Salary: Starting at 22.25$/hr
- Evenings: $2.50;
- Weekend: $2.75;
- Overtime: Time and a half;
- Holidays: Double time;
- Annual bonus based on performance;
- Schedule: Position mostly to work Monday to Friday – Week-end Rotation only. depending on the needs, you may have to do overtime.
- Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week.
