Job description

Job Title: MSL Introduction to role Are you motivated to positively impact the health of others. Are you scientifically driven and passionate about communicating scientific information. Our Medical Science Liaisons engage in relevant, objective scientific exchange with health care professionals in an effort to facilitate scientific discovery and informed treatment decisions.

You will join a team recognized for scientific expertise and patient centricity. This position is based in Quebec and will cover the Quebec and Atlantic region. Accountabilities Review emerging data with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) discussing benefits and risks in a scientific, objective and unbiased way.

Interact with HCPs as scientific consultants to engage in scientific activities aligned with corporate projects such as advisory boards, speaker programs, and clinical trials. Identify HCPs with the scientific competence and expertise to collaborate on forward-thinking basic and pre-clinical research identified in our target planning. Stay abreast of information and provide AstraZeneca with an understanding of regional HCPs, their practices, and related key issues and trends in disease treatment so we can continue to build strong relationships and discover new ideas for research.

Act as a regional (field-based) subject matter expert in the lifecycle management of products in a variety of therapeutic areas. Uncover opportunities for research with HCPs and, where appropriate, you connect these opportunities to the Medical Advisor as part of the Externally Sponsored Research (ESR) process. Support key clinical trial sites by providing expert scientific expertise on the molecule being investigated either during site initiation or shortly thereafter.

Collaborate with clinical operations groups to ensure successful recruitment of clinical sites. Essential Skills/Experience You have the ability to effectively synthesize and communicate scientific information at a peer level with a physician. You are able to connect with the HCP to discuss rewarding scientific exchange.

You have previous experience as a healthcare professional (PharmD, MD) or one with scientific expertise including PhD or MSc. You have two years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry as an MSL, with a deep understanding of the health care environment with regards to Opinion Leaders, Academia, and the Medical Community in general. Experience in the therapeutic area of Respiratory is an asset; You may at times be required to change therapeutic areas to adapt to business needs and therefore you must have an excellent ability to learn and capacity for scientific concepts and knowledge.

You are well-organized and a self-starter with strong communication and business skills. You positively impact and influence others and quickly establish credibility while building strong business relationships. You can travel frequently (local, national, and global) and you hold a valid driver's license (a valid driver abstract requested at time of acceptance).

Responsabilites Examiner les donnees emergentes avec les professionnels de la sante (PDS) en discutant des avantages et des risques de maniere scientifique, objective et impartiale. Interagir avec les PDS en tant que consultants scientifiques pour participer a des activites alignees sur les projets de l'entreprise telles que des comites consultatifs, des programmes de conferenciers et des essais cliniques.

Identifier les PDS dotes de competences et d'expertise scientifiques afin de collaborer sur des recherches fondamentales et precliniques innovantes ciblees dans notre planification. Se tenir informe et fournir a AstraZeneca une comprehension des PDS regionaux, de leurs pratiques et des questions cles et tendances liees au traitement des maladies, afin de renforcer nos relations et decouvrir de nouvelles idees de recherche. Agir en tant qu'expert regional (sur le terrain) dans la gestion du cycle de vie des produits dans divers domaines therapeutiques.

Detecter des opportunites de recherche avec les PDS et, quand c'est pertinent, les relier au Conseiller medical dans le cadre du processus de recherche sponsorisee exterieure (ESR). Soutenir les principaux sites d'essais cliniques en apportant une expertise scientifique sur la molecule etudiee, soit lors de l'initiation du site, soit peu de temps apres. Collaborer avec les groupes des operations cliniques pour assurer le recrutement efficace des sites cliniques.

Competences/Experiences essentielles Vous savez synthetiser et communiquer efficacement l'information scientifique au niveau des pairs avec un medecin et savez engager le PDS dans un echange scientifique constructif. Vous avez une experience en tant que professionnel de sante (PharmD, MD) ou une expertise scientifique (PhD ou MSc). Vous avez deux ans d'experience dans l'industrie pharmaceutique en tant que MSL, avec une connaissance approfondie du secteur de la sante, notamment des leaders d'opinion, du milieu universitaire et de la communaute medicale en general.

Une experience dans le domaine therapeutique de la pneumologie est un atout. Vous pourriez etre amene a changer de domaine therapeutique selon les besoins de l'entreprise ; il est donc essentiel d'avoir une excellente capacite d'apprentissage et une maitrise des concepts et connaissances scientifiques. Vous etes bien organise et autonome, avec de solides competences en communication et en affaires.

Vous avez une capacite positive a influencer et impacter les autres, et vous etablissez rapidement votre credibilite tout en construisant des relations professionnelles solides. Vous etes disponible pour des deplacements frequents (locaux, nationaux et mondiaux) et vous possedez un permis de conduire valide (un dossier de conduite valide sera demande lors de l'acceptation).
