Job description

UniFirst Corporation is seeking a full-time SAP Technical Lead Architect to join our IT department. The SAP Technical Lead Architect will provide end-to-end technical leadership across SAP platforms, with a focus on solution architecture, technical design, integration, and delivery of SAP-enabled business solutions. This role is accountable for defining and enforcing technology standards, leading solution architecture, and ensuring alignment with enterprise IT strategies. The SAP Technical Lead Architect will partner closely with business leaders, IT management, and development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions that enable UniFirst’s strategic initiatives.

Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership across SAP platforms including SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP Commissions.
  • Define and govern architecture standards, frameworks, and guidelines to ensure technical consistency and alignment.
  • Collaborate with IT leaders and business stakeholders to design end-to-end solutions that meet business needs.
  • Guide development and delivery teams on architecture best practices, ensuring adherence to standards.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Evaluate, select, and oversee third-party vendors and technology partners.
  • Manage technical aspects of Statements of Work (SOWs) and vendor deliverables.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between UniFirst IT and vendor/partner architecture teams.
  • Communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs effectively to business and IT stakeholders.

Application & Technical Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of technical solutions across SAP applications and integrations.
  • Ensure solution designs address performance, scalability, security, and operational requirements.
  • Oversee integration design across SAP and non-SAP systems.
  • Establish architecture reviews, ensuring high standards of code quality and technical delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies, recommending adoption where appropriate.
  • Drive DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks to support efficient delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise IT policies, standards, and security requirements

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with 5+ years in SAP architecture or technical leadership roles.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale SAP solutions across SAP Commerce Cloud, and related platforms.
  • Strong background in systems integration, cloud architecture, and application lifecycle management.
  • Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional technical teams.
  • Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills.
  •  

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Enterprise Architecture, or MBA preferred.
  • SAP technical or architecture certifications strongly preferred.
     

Additional Requirements:

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into business-friendly language.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience implementing AI technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high sense of urgency.
  • Deep knowledge of architecture frameworks and methodologies.
  • Potential for up to 10% of travel required


The estimated compensation for this position ranges from $110,000-$150,000. This range reflects various factors, including but not limited to the applicant's skills, qualifications, and previous work experience. Additionally, geographic differentials may apply based on the location where the position is ultimately filled, which could affect the final compensation.
