Purpose
The Cloud Engineering Manager oversees cloud strategy, infrastructure design, platform operations, and engineering teams. Leader ensures cloud environments are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include managing cloud engineers, driving cloud adoption, optimizing cost and performance, and ensuring best practice cloud governance. The role blends technical leadership, cloud architecture expertise, operations management, and people leadership.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Execute the organization's cloud strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology direction.
  • Deploy advanced practices, define new solutions, deliver larger project workstreams: carrying out specified project activities within defined time and quality parameters and ensuring adherence to the prescribed project management methodology.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop cloud engineers, manage performance and staffing.
  • Align engineering team focused on the operation, maintenance, and repair of IT systems.
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure design, implementation, and optimization across multiple cloud platforms.
  • Manage monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, backup, disaster recovery, and lifecycle management of cloud infrastructure resources.
  • Ensure cloud infrastructure environments follow best practices for security, availability, performance, resiliency, and compliance.
  • Drive IT cost efficiency and budget management.
  • Maintain relationships with IT service providers and managed service partners.
  • Execute the enterprise IT strategy in alignment with organizational business objectives and financial priorities, ensuring technology investments deliver measurable value and support long term growth.
  • Enforce IT governance frameworks, enterprise architecture standards, and technology investment prioritization processes to ensure consistent, secure, and strategically aligned decision making across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain the appropriate levels of operational support against established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and other metrics.
  • Oversee enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, and OT/IT integration, driving incident response, vulnerability management, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance across all operational environments.
  • Ensure the protection of critical infrastructure, operational technologies, and sensitive data by implementing robust security controls, continuous monitoring, and proactive risk mitigation practices across all IT and OT environments.
  • Lead end-to-end deliveries, define scope and success criteria of business initiatives and projects.
  • Define clear objectives and expectations of direct reports, evaluate performance, provide verbal and written feedback on career growth, and encourage innovative thinking and process improvement.
  • Educate leadership, customers, and other stakeholders in the development and implementation of required programs and processes.

Qualifications & Experience
Education
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Information Systems or a related field or equivalent work experience; MBA in Business Administration preferred

Experience
  • Minimum seven (7) years' IT experience in a support environment
  • Minimum two (2) years' progressive IT management experience leading teams across multiple sites
  • Extensive hands-on multi-site organizational change management experience

Skills and capabilities
  • Deep knowledge of various cloud services.
  • Ability to guide architectural decisions and mentor engineering teams.
  • Skilled in planning, executing, and delivering cloud initiatives.
  • Understanding of cloud security frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to develop, manage, and optimize IT and cloud budgets.
